MICHAEL RUIZ-DEL-VIZO

Michael Ruiz-del-Vizo is a Scenic Designer based in Brooklyn; born and raised in Miami, they are a Queer Cuban-American Artist and the descendant of immigrants. Michael is a designer for theater, opera, and dance, who strives to develop bold and challenging new work whose stories engage with design as an integral part of the storytelling process.

 

Michael earned their B.F.A. in Production Design with a concentration in Scenic Design and Art Direction from the Savannah College of Art and Design. 

 

Michael is a proud member of Local USA 829 and Wingspace Theatrical Design, a visiting lecturer at Rutgers University, and a 2026 Princess Grace Awards winner. They are an avid fan of Drag, Comedy, and Podcasts, and is an all-around nice person.
